The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Is Open for Entries!

Exciting prizes up for grabs for young budding artists.

The 17th annual Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is accepting entries. The competition is open to all children aged 15 years and under and entries close on 16 February 2024.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has been running since 2004 as part of Toyota’s social contribution initiatives. It’s one of the largest international art competitions and not only gives children the opportunity to share their ideas about the future of mobility, but also encourages them to pursue their dreams.

Take a look at some of the previous entries below:

Louchenzo Ramsamy Chenzo TOYOTA FLY HIGHER
Yususf Adam TOYOTA ECO-CRUISER
Kimberley Aravasundraven TOYOTA FLY

The competition is open to the following age categories: 7 years and under, 8 to 11 years and 12 to 15 years. It aims to inspire budding young creatives who love drawing to put pencil to paper and draw their dream car. There are two sections to the competition: a National Contest is held in each participating country. The current round started on 11 December 2023 and closes on 16 February 2024. Winners of this contest will be entered as representatives of their countries of origin into the World Contest, to be held in Japan in August 2024.

‘The importance of creativity lies not only in the creation of beautiful works of art, but also in the transformation of ideas into the remarkable solutions that shape our future, which is why the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest invites children from all corners of the globe to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream cars. We at Toyota hope that this art contest will help nurture the creativity of the next generation of great inventors, thinkers and dreamers,’ says Glenn Crompton, Vice President of Marketing at Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM).

Last year Kyle Verfaillie from Bloemfontein was the only South African finalist in the global competition, which had more than 530,000 entries from 78 different countries. Kyle walked away with a $3,000 cheque as well as a finalist certificate. Read more about Kyle here.

In 2023 Kyle Verfaillie from Bloemfontein was the only South African finalist in the global Toyota Dream Car Art competition.
